Nagindas Khandwala College is conferred with autonomous status by the UGC from the year 2016-17. To its credit the college has secured A grade by NAAC(4th Cycle) and recieved Empowered Autonomous Status and is the first state Cluster Universuty approved. The college is fourth under Arts, Science and Commerce Colleges to be autonomous under the University of Mumbai. The college has 27 UG, 15 PG and 4 Ph.D. programmes. 40 % of the faculty members are Ph.D. of which 25% are Research Guides.
